A project has begun to look into the development of a new residential city near to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The planned city would span an area of 57 million square meters.
An initial $363,000 contract has been awarded to Korean firm, Korea Engineering Consultants Corporation, for the delivery in April 2015 of a design proposal for the city. The five month contract will see the firm carry out a number of tasks such as soil surveys, city planning, earthwork planning, construction material procurement planning, and site development cost estimation.
